Share the Plate March 2018

Each Sunday, an offering is collected to support the ministry of the UUCHV with a quarter of the non-pledge offering monies donated to a specific non-profit organization on a monthly basis. Share the Plate is just one way the UUCHV affirms and supports Unitarian Universalist Principles which calls for us to outreach and generously serve our local, as well as our international communities.

During the month of March, the Social Justice Committee has designated The LOFT as the "Share the Plate" recipient.

Located in White Plains, New York, The LOFT is a not-for-profit, community-based organization serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered community of the lower Hudson Valley. The LOFT works to further the cause for inclusion, diversity and pride through education, advocacy and celebration. The LOFT was formed in 1983 when individuals from the Gay Men’s Alliance of the Hudson Valley and the Lesbian Task Force joined forces to create one organization. Today, because of the foresight of these brave pioneers, The LOFT continues to serve the LGBT community of The Lower Hudson Valley. The UUCHV has supported The LOFT through a Second Collection/Share the Plate since 1997.
