Pastoral Care

What is Pastoral Care and How do I get it?

Pastoral Care happens at UUCHV in two different ways.

We have a Sharing and Caring Committee that works to check in
with and support members and friends of the Congregation in times of struggle and triumph. If you have a baby, the Committee might drop by a meal and a hand knitted hat. If you have surgery, the Committee might knit you a prayer shawl and deliver it in the hospital. If the Committee learns a family member is ill, they might send a card or give you a call. You might receive a plant or a meal or a visit from a member of the Committee.

Email Sharing & Caring if you want to make sure that we know what's going on in your life and we can support you!

Our Minister provides Pastoral Care as well. From home visits to phone calls to hospital visits, our minister will check in with you as she learns about what is going on in your life. Please do share anything you want with Rev. Lee Anne to be supported around-- either by emailing her, calling her or speaking to her in person, by sharing with the S&C Committee, by speaking your joy or sorrow on Sunday, or by calling the church office and requesting the minister contact you.

Rev. Lee Anne can also meet with folks one on one even if there is no particular joy, sorrow, or crisis. Often folks come in to talk about their theology, where they are in their lives, what their hopes are in the Congregation and so on. These are various forms of Spiritual Direction.
