October Share the Plate

For the month of October, UUCHV will “Share the Plate" with PrideWorks. Each year, over 500 professionals, parents, and students gather for PrideWorks, an annual conference for and about LGBTQ youth, their allies and the adults in their lives. Over 30 workshops and a keynote speaker are selected to fulfill the mission of the organization, to INFORM our communities about the realities of growing up gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender, to INSPIRE them to respect and support LGBTQ people, and to ADVOCATE for positive change. Participants come from Westchester, Rockland, Putnam, and Dutchess counties, as well as NYC, Connecticut, and New Jersey to participate in and present an array of workshops, including: Being a Straight Ally, Healthy Relationships, Coming Out, Cyberbullying, Starting a Gay-Straight Alliance, Political Action & Advocacy, and more.
