February Share the Plate
Every Sunday an offering is collected to support the ministry of the UUCHV with a portion of the non-pledge offering monies donated to a specific non-profit organization on a monthly basis. Share the Plate is just one way the UUCHV affirms and supports Unitarian Universalist Principles which calls for us to outreach and generously serve our local, as well as our international communities.
Share the Plate for the month of February will benefit The Promise and the Practice of our Fatih for Black Lives of Unitarian Universalism. (BLUU). The Promise and the Practice of Our Faith Campaign is our opportunity to take the lead as a faith denomination in addressing our history of upholding white supremacy. Together, we can collectively work to dismantle it and amend a long broken promise to the Black Lives within our Association. UU congregations are asked to join in the Promise and the Practice of Our Faith by scheduling one Sunday in February to engage around this theme, make a financial commitment in support of BLUU which helps fulfill the $1 million match opportunity, and make a long-term commitment to dismantle white supremacy, racism and oppression from within our denomination and beyond. For more information, please visit the website <uua.org> and search for Promise and Practice.
It is the SJC's hope that the UUCHV will support this effort. The Social Justice Committee welcomes suggestions for 'Share the Plate' offerings. Please give your suggestions to Bearni Croft
