Share the Plate April 2018

Each Sunday, an offering is collected to support the ministry of the UUCHV with a quarter of the non-pledge offering monies donated to a specific non-profit organization on a monthly basis. Share the Plate is just one way the UUCHV affirms and supports Unitarian Universalist Principles which calls for us to outreach and generously serve our local, as well as our international communities.

In recognition of Prevention of Cruelty to Animals month and in keeping with this month’s worship theme of compassion, during April, the UUCHV will 'Share the Plate' with the SPCA of Westchester. It is the only humane society in Westchester County empowered to enforce laws relating to animal cruelty; yet the SPCA receives no federal, state, or county funds. Please refer to their website for additional details: <www.spca914.org> In addition to monetary support, the SPCA could use pet, household, and office supplies and other specialty items. Click on Wish List to view. These articles will be collected during April. The cat food collected will be donated to Springvale’s Feral Cat Colony which is a trap, neuter, release colony.

The Social Justice Committee welcomes suggestions for "Share the Plate" offerings. Please give your suggestion to Bearni Croft.
